Telephone number for spectrum1/12/2023 ![]() ![]() The current company that is holding the phone number does not need any advance notification whatsoever. You will need your account number and security code. Removing phone is literally checking about 8 boxes, clicking remove, and adding a no truck code, but they will make it sound like they're moving heaven and earth to do it.įinish the port of the number first. Phone is considered an addon at $12.99 but retention (the guys in the sales department that you absolutely have to speak to for removing any service) will tell you that removing phone will impact your bundle and will gladly go out of their way to rebuild your account from the ground up without the other discounts just to drive the point home. This is true regardless if whether it's Spectrum, Verizon, ATT, Sprint, etc. The company will continue to happily charge you for service when you don't even have a phone number on your account. Does anyone think that it is possible, even likely, that Spectrum would intentionally delay these transfers in order to generate additional billing revenues on accounts that are leaving?Īs someone who worked mobile (outside of Spectrum) for a long time, porting out the number does not automatically cancel the other account. They only offered to credit me the $19.99 for my phone bill portion. My point was that I should not have been invoiced at all if their "WAY WACKEY" automated system was working properly, all things would have been completed within last billing cycle. So today my number was finally ported over to Google and then the fight with the billing department started. He then said "I already have concurrence for the transfer to be complete on November 22nd, 2021, today! Now if he could not see any dates or timeframes, how did he know that Google had put in today's date as the cutover? He then said that if I wanted it sooner, then I had to cancel the existing request, which he just manually approved, and submit a new Supplement 2 request for a date change only to the "LNP" email. He said that Spectrum's "automated approval system was WAY WACKEY", but that he could manually approve the request. And then he told me that the good news is that he could tell me the reasons for all the rejections from Google. But he said he could not provide me any dates or timeframes, which seems to be BS. This time, when it was rejected, November 17th, 2021, I called the number and connected with another Spectrum representative who told me that he can see that there have been many, many requests and rejections, including the most recent. I went back to Google and had to start the entire process over, again. And that the Port Out specialist could not tell me why my requests via Google were being rejected or any date information. I was told of a "special" email address and phone number that Google should contact. ![]() I was told that they could only speak to Google representatives, in my case. ![]() Finally I got ahold of someone in the Port Out department at Spectrum, by accident. The request to Spectrum was rejected 6 times! And nobody could tell me why. I changed to Google on October 17th and requested that my landline be ported to Google. ![]() I had Spectrum internet service and a landline, which was originally provided by Spectrum (Time Warner). While my issue only involved Spectrum and Google, internet and landline phone service, it is hopefully still helpful. ![]()
